A cobalt sky tinged with purple haze,
or a rainbow like an angel’s wing,
makes me treasure the wonderful gifts
of the newness that each day can bring.
The dark silhouette of an agéd tree
against the gold of an evening sky,
makes me wonder at every detail
of how Earth was created and why.
The sight of a fast flowing river,
or the smell of a newly mown lawn,
the touch of wet sand underfoot
gives pleasure in each new dawn.

There it stood, proud and sure,
vanilla and strawberry flowers
each like an oversized tea cup.
Long branches, bending, offered
sweetness and pleasure.
There I stood in the garden
immersed in self doubt,
but I drank in its beauty,
breathed its delicate perfume
and the sun warmed me.

Thank you so much for adding your poems. They are wonderful.
I am not sure why the system does not recognize the original format.
thanks again for sharing,
Joe

Welcome! I am starting to really love poetry too! I hope to see some of your poetry if you want to share.
You can add poetry to the main page of this site in the blog, or add poetry to the existing writing group, or anyone can start a new group for poetry too!
Also, the link above did not work for me. Just wondering if your link is still working?
take care,
Joe
